Milan Central Station
Opened in 1931, Milan Central Station is one of the most important Italian stations for train traffic.
The Central Station's principal arch is impressive with its 72-meter width. An enormous amount of marble was used for the floors and coverings, totaling about 11,000 square meters.
Archimeter carried out laser scanner 3D surveys of both the exteriors and interiors of Milan Central Station as a preliminary step to design setups. Starting from the point cloud, a 3D B.I.M. model was created from the survey, allowing for the inclusion of all structural information.
