Domus Aurea - Rome
The Domus Aurea was the urban villa built by the Roman emperor Nero after the great fire that devastated Rome in 64 A.D..
The experts at Archimeter conducted preliminary 3D laser scanner surveys for the safety and public use works on behalf of the Superintendence of Rome, Environment 21, at the Domus Aurea in Rome.
In addition to the three-dimensional surveys, photogrammetric acquisitions were carried out on the internal facades and the vault for the creation of 2D representations, which served as a preliminary step for material analyses and assessments of structural instability and degradation.
